Beautiful coastal area in South Devon
Wembury Bay is a beautiful coastal area in the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The River Yealm flows into the bay. Plymouth Sound is to the north west. Cawsand Bay and Rame Head are to the west in Cornwall. Out at sea is Great Mew Stone.
The bay is home to Wembury Marine Centre, Wembury Beach and The Warren (Noss Mayo). The views west across the bay from the latter are superb. Follow the South West Coast Path to get to The Warren.
Newton Ferrers and Noss Mayo are particulary beautiful villages on banks of the Yealm.
Other bays in this part of Devon include Bigbury Bay, Lannacombe Bay, Start Bay, Tor Bay and Babbacombe Bay.
Dartmoor National Park is to the north and north east. The Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is to the north west.
