Hope Cove beaches

Hope Cove Mouthwell Beach. Compact and sheltered family beach on the north side of Hope Cove below the Hope and Anchor Inn, The Cove Cafe Bar and the village shop.

Hope Cove Harbour Beach. Stunning low tide sandy beach arcing from the harbour wall in the north section of the beach all the way down to where the South West Coast Path climbs to Bolt Tail.

 

Beaches west of Hope Cove

South Milton Sands/Thurlestone Sand (Beach). Long, sand beach ideal for families. South Milton Sands is the southern section of the beach. Thurlestone Sand is the northern section of the beach. This long stretch of sand is popular with families. There's also a fashionable beach cafe and bar called the beachhouse at the north end of South Milton Sands.

Bantham Beach. One of the best beaches in South West England. Huge sand beach at low tide. Known for its watersports.

Bigbury-on-Sea Beach. Extremely popular family beach that connects with Burgh Island at low tide. Stunning place.

 

Beaches east of Hope Cove

Soar Mill Cove (Beach). Soar Mill Cove (Beach) is a wonderful, secluded sandy beach at the bottom of a steep coastal valley. The South West Coast Path walk from Hope Cove to Soar Mill Cove (Beach) is exceptional. Huge views along high cliffs. Highly recommended.

South Sands (Beach). One of a number of great beaches in the lower section of the Salcombe Kingsbridge Estuary. You can take a sea tractor and ferry to the centre of Salcombe from South Sands (Beach).

Burgh Island

Burgh Island. Famous tidal island by Bigbury-on-Sea. Wander across the sand at low tide or take the sea tractor when the tide comes in. Enjoy a drink in the Pilchard Inn or stay in the iconic Art Deco Burgh Island Hotel. Walk to the top of Burgh Island for massive views of the South Devon coastline.

 

The Salcombe Kingsbridge Estuary

Salcombe Kingsbridge Estuary. Remarkable place just east of Hope Cove. Make sure you visit if on holiday in South Devon.
