Widdicombe Ley, Torcross, South Devon
Small lake, or 'ley', behind Bee Sands (Beach) in Start Bay
Widdicombe Ley is a small lake, or 'ley', located behind Bee Sands (Beach) in the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The much larger Slapton Ley National Nature Reserve is to the north. Hall Sands (Beach) and Hallsands are to the south. Start Point and Start Point Lighthouse are to the south east. The coastal village Beesands is at the southern end of the water.
We'd recommend viewing Widdicombe Ley from the South West Coast Path that follows the Start Bay coastline.
The Salcombe to Kingsbridge Nature Reserve is to the west within the the Salcombe Kingsbridge Estuary.
