Shaldon Zoo, Shaldon, South Devon

Shaldon Zoo, Shaldon, South Devon

'The Best Little Zoo in the West'

Superb, compact zoo on the outskirts of Shaldon with an exceptionally important collection of primates. A delight to visit. 'Set in an acre of woodland garden above the attractive coastal village of Shaldon, we look after, and help preserve, some of the rarest and most endangered animals in the world.' (Source: Shaldon Wildlife Trust website)

There's a large car park by the zoo and a lovely pub called The Ness with top views across the Teign Estuary to Teignmouth.

Shaldon Zoo is very close to the family beaches Ness Cove Beach and Shaldon Beach. Take the Teignmouth/Shaldon Ferry across the water to Teignmouth.
