Wonderful beach at Shaldon on the Teign Estuary
Shaldon Beach is a wonderful shingle and sand beach with views across the River Teign and Estuary towards Teignmouth.
There are some great pubs and cafes behind the beach. The beer garden at The Ferry Boat Inn is superb.
Take a trip across to Teignmouth on the Teignmouth/Shaldon Ferry. It's said to be the oldest passenger ferry in England.
Ness Cove Beach is a short walk away. The South West Coast Path connects the two beaches. You pass through Smugglers Tunnel by Shaldon Zoo to access the beach below red cliffs. There's ample visitor parking close to Ness Cove Beach.
