Ness Cove Beach, Shaldon, South Devon
Family beach accessed through a tunnel
Ness Cove is a sand and shingle family beach under high red cliffs by the pretty Devon village of Shaldon. Access to the beach is through the short Smugglers Tunnel which has been cut through the rock here.
There's a large car park, a pub called The Ness with some of the finest views in this part of the county and a superb little zoo.

Things to do near Ness Cove Beach
Make sure you explore Shaldon. There's a shingle and sand beach looking out across the Teign Estuary towards Teignmouth.
Take the Teignmouth/Shaldon Ferry from Shaldon to Teignmouth.
We'd also recommend you walk the South West Coast Path south towards Maidencombe. The views back down to Teignmouth and out across the East Devon coast are amazing.
Alternatively, head inland to Dartmoor National Park on the Templer Way.
