The Ferry Inn, Salcombe, South Devon
Overlooking the Salcombe Kingsbridge Estuary and the Salcombe East Portlemouth Ferry
The Ferry Inn has one of the best beer garden locations in the Westcountry. The terrace overlooks the Salcombe Kingsbridge Estuary and the Salcombe East Portlemouth Ferry. East Portlemouth Beaches (Small's Cove to Ditchend Cove) are across the water. Boats pass by. It's great place from which to absorb the Salcombe vibe.

Things to do near The Ferry Inn
We'd recommend taking the Salcombe East Portlemouth Ferry across the water to East Portlemouth. If you cross at low tide, glorious beaches are exposed all the way down the east side of the estuary and you can walk the sand for about one mile until you reach the mouth of the Salcombe Kingsbridge Estuary. Scramble up onto the South West Coast Path and wander back to East Portlemouth, the ferry and The Ferry Inn.
If you just fancy spending some time on a beach, try the East Portlemouth Beaches (Small's Cove to Ditchend Cove) or Mill Bay Beach (National Trust). The latter is particularly popular. You can also take a ferry from the pontoon at Whitestrand in the centre of town down to South Sands (Beach). Again, you can wander back on the South West Coast Path. Note that Overbeck's Garden and Museum (National Trust) is situated above South Sands (Beach).
