Directions and parking for Snapes Point (viewpoint to Salcombe)
We'd recommend wandering to Snapes Point (viewpoint to Salcombe) from Salcombe. Start at Creek Car Park. Follow the road around Batson Creek to Batson/Lower Batson and then up to Lincombe Cross. There's a National Trust car park north east of Batson/Lower Batson and just south of Lincombe. A path leads to Snapes Point.
If you're driving, head for Lincombe Cross and the National Trust car park north east of Batson/Lower Batson and just south of Lincombe. It's a short walk from the car park to the point.
Snapes Point (viewpoint to Salcombe)
The best view is south west down the lower section of the Salcombe Kingsbridge Estuary to the sea. Salcombe is on the west side of the water. East Portlemouth is on the east. The view is particularly beautiful when the beaches that line the estuary by East Portlemouth join at low tide to form one continuous stretch of sand.

Other viewpoints in the local area
The viewpoint from the small car parking area up in East Portlemouth near the church provides a classic view of Salcombe and the Salcombe Kingsbridge Estuary. Snapes Point is a prominent feature in that view.
Sharp Tor is located south of Overbeck's Garden and Museum (National Trust) and is way above the estuary. The views from up top are immense. In that view, Snapes Point is just right, or east, of Salcombe.
Continue to Bolt Head for views along the coast.
