Coastal tor offering an exceptional view of the Salcombe Kingsbridge Estuary
There are lots of Sharp Tors on Dartmoor. One provides stunning views of the Teign Gorge near Castle Drogo (National Trust). Another is situated above the remarkable Dart Gorge. The Sharp Tor above the mouth of the Salcombe Kingsbridge Estuary is just as impressive as its National Park counterparts.

Directions and parking for Sharp Tor (Salcombe)
If you're a keen walker, you can walk in on the South West Coast Path from Salcombe. The South West Coast Path takes you around the side of the tor. To get to the top, follow the South West Coast Path to South Sands (Beach) and then head up to Overbeck's Garden and Museum (National Trust) and then follow the path behind that property to Sharp Tor (Salcombe).
We'd recommend taking the South Sands Sea Tractor/Taxi from Salcombe. The taxi boat delivers you to a sea tractor that takes you onto South Sands (Beach). You then wander up to Overbeck's Garden and Museum (National Trust) and then follow the path behind that property to Sharp Tor (Salcombe).
You can also follow the South West Coast Path from Hope Cove (Beach) or Soar Mill Cove (Beach). Note that you can walk across countryside via Higher Soar and East Soar Farm if you're coming from the Soar Mill Cove (Beach) area. It's a nice walk.
Sharp Tor (Salcombe)
High above Starehole Bay, and close to Bolt Head, there's a viewing area at the top of the tor. To the east, you'll see Prawle Point. To the north, Salcombe stretches out along a bank of the estuary. In a place known for its natural beauty, these really are exceptional views.
Both the South West Coast Path and this higher path are marked on the OS Explorer Map OL20 so check this before you go.

In the local area, visit Overbeck's Garden and Museum (National Trust), spend some time on South Sands (Beach) and take the South Sands Sea Tractor/Taxi into Salcombe.
Other things to do in the local area
Soar Mill Cove (Beach) is great. Note that Soar Mill Cove Hotel is at the top of the valley.
West of South Sands (Beach), visit Hope Cove, Bantham and Bigbury-on-Sea with its iconic Art Deco hotel on Burgh Island.
