Salcombe lines the west side of the Salcombe Kingsbridge Estuary close to where the estuary meets the sea. North Sands (Beach) is at the south western end of town. The Winking Prawn sits behind North Sands (Beach).

Directions and parking for The Winking Prawn
The A381 takes you to the south western end of Salcombe. A steep road zig-zags down to North Sands (Beach). The Winking Prawn is behind the beach.
If you're coming from Salcombe, we'd recommend walking the South West Coast Path from the centre of town to North Sands (Beach). Alternatively, take the South Sands Sea Tractor/Taxi Ferry from the pontoon at Whitestrand Quay in Salcombe to South Sands (Beach) and then wander across on the South West Coast Path to North Sands (Beach) and The Winking Prawn.
There's a big public car park next to The Winking Prawn. Charges apply. There's also limited parking on site but it's a very busy place.
Things to do near The Winking Prawn
The most obvious thing to do is to relax on North Sands (Beach) or enjoy some watersports.
Whilst Salcombe Castle (English Heritage) is a ruin, it's located on the coast by The Winking Prawn. There are information boards on site.
Follow the South West Coast Path a short distance south and you come to South Sands (Beach). You can take the South Sands Sea Tractor/Taxi Ferry to the centre of Salcombe. You can also hire sea kayaks etc at South Sands (Beach).
Push on up the hill from South Sands (Beach) and you come to Overbeck's Garden and Museum (National Trust) and beyond that are the sublime views from Sharp Tor and Bolt Head.

Take the Salcombe East Portlemouth Ferry to East Portlemouth. At low tide, the eastern side of the estuary is lined with amazing beaches including Mill Bay Beach (National Trust).
Alternatively, take the Salcombe Kingsbridge Ferry to Kingsbridge.
