Plymouth Gin, Plymouth, South Devon
England's oldest working distillery
Visit England’s oldest working gin distillery! ‘Plymouth Gin Distillery is one of the South West’s best-kept secrets. The Distillery has been making award-winning Plymouth Gin to an original recipe since 1793, and our medieval building – including the Refectory – dates back to 1431. Part of an old monastery, the resident Black Friars were famed for their herbal and alcoholic remedies and the Pilgrim Fathers are said to have spent their last night in the Refectory building before setting sail for the New World.’ (Plymouth Gin leaflet)
