Superb, sandy cove just south of central Dawlish
Head south at Dawlish on the South West Coast Path and you walk behind Dawlish Beach to Boat Cove (Beach). Just beyond the rocks there, sat below cliffs, is the superb, sandy Coryton Cove.
'Coryton Cove is one of the most sheltered beaches on this stretch of coast, exposed only to easterly winds. It was reserved for gentlemen to use in the days when sea bathing became popular and it was normal for sexes to be segregated to preserve modesty.' (Information board at Coryton Cove)
