Scabbacombe Sands (Beach), Dartmouth, South Devon
Superb, remote beach
Scabbacombe Sands (Beach) is a sand and rock beach close to The English Riviera in South Devon. Dartmouth and Kingswear are to the west and Brixham is to the north.
We've visited Scabbacombe Sands on numerous occasions via the South West Coast Path or from one of the car parks about 1km inland. You'll see these parking areas on Ordnance Survey or Google mapping. The most direct route is from the car park on Scabbacombe Lane. It's a stiff walk back from the beach.
Follow the South West Coast Path north to get to Man Sands (Beach). Walk south along the coast to get to Pudcombe Cove. We would not recommend visiting the latter as it's a tough scramble down to the beach.
We've seen seals on several occasions off Scabbacombe Sands (Beach).
In the local area, make sure you visit the National Trust's Coleton Fishacre.
