Headland close to Hope Cove Harbour Beach and Hope Cove

Bolt Tail is a headland close to Hope Cove Harbour Beach and Hope Cove. It's at the north west end of a superb stretch of coastline that meets the Salcombe Kingsbrigde Estuary at Bolt Head.

There's a fantastic coastal walk eastwards via Bolberry Down, Soar Mill Cove (Beach) and past Overbeck's Garden and Museum to Salcombe. This follows the South West Coast Path.

The views from Bolt Tail down to Hope Cove and across Bigbury Bay to Burgh Island are superb.

To visit, follow the South West Coast Path from the southern end of Hope Cove Harbour Beach. The path climbs through woodland, crosses an open area of farmland and then skirts Bolt Tail. There's a bench on which you can take a break. Tracks lead from the South West Coast Path to the headland from where you can enjoy the views.
