'River Avon Ferry Service
The Avon Ferry operates a seasonal passenger service running from Cockleridge Ham to Bantham.
Ferry information. The Avon Ferry operates a seasonal service running from Cockleridge Ham to Bantham. During 2019 the service will operate daily. 10am - 11am and 3 - 4pm [sic] from 19th April until 21st September. There is no Sunday service. The ferryman, Marsh Dawes, can be contacted on 01548 561196.
Alernatives to the ferry. At times when the ferry is not running these are the alternative ways of getting around the estuary:
Walking. See top right for the Avon Estuary Walk [we provide this info in our Avon Estuary Walk listing]. Please note that fording the river should not be attempted as it can be dangerous at any state of the tide.
