Newton Creek and the Voss, Wembury, South Devon

Narrow tidal inlet crossed by causeway and ferry/water taxi

Newton Creek is a narrow tidal inlet just off the River Yealm in the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Newton Ferrers is to the north. Noss Mayo is to the south.

You can cross the creek at low tide on a causeway known as the Voss. Note that there's a shorter causeway known as the Voss that connects the Swan Inn and Ship Inn sides of Noss Mayo. Both these causeways are clearly visible on Google's satellite imagery.

When the water is high, take the seasonal ferry/water taxi that runs in a triangle between Wide Slip (Landing) west of Noss Mayo and Yealm Steps (Landing) west of Newton Ferrers and Warren Point (Landing) on the west bank of the Yealm.
