South Devon Railway

We've been on the train many times. Kids love the old fashioned train compartments. For most of the journey, the train runs along the north bank of the River Dart. The scenery is stunning. Totnes Rare Breeds Farm is at the Totnes end of the line.

For a big day out, buy the 3 for 1 ticket offering entrance to the South Devon Railway, Totnes Rare Breeds Farm and Dartmoor Otters and Buckfast Butterflies. The latter is located by the Buckfastleigh car park for the South Devon Railway. Clearly, all three attractions are conveniently located to one another.

If this is of interest, try also the Dartmouth Steam Railway at Kingswear and Paington and the Dartmoor Railway up in Okehampton.

In the Buckfastleigh area, we'd recommend visiting Buckfast Abbey, Pennywell Farm and River Dart Adventures.
