Great pub near Maidencombe Beach
Maidencombe is a small village on the Devon coast just north of The English Riviera. The Thatched Tavern is located within Maidencombe. It's a short, sharp walk from the pub to Maidencombe Beach.
Whilst the walk to Maidencombe Beach is lovely, if you fancy something a little more strenuous, we'd recommend following the South West Coast Path south to Watcombe Beach. Beyond that are Oddicombe Beach and Babbacombe Downs and Gardens. The views from the latter are superb. Refer to the Ordnance Survey Explorer 110 'Torquay & Dawlish' map for detail.
If you follow the South West Coast Path north of Maidencombe Beach, you'll come to Ness Cove Beach, Shaldon Zoo and The Ness. The views across the sea to the East Devon and Dorset coast are glorious on a clear day. Again, refer to the Ordnance Survey Explorer 110 'Torquay & Dawlish' map for detail.
