Maidencombe Beach, Torquay, South Devon

Small sand and shingle beach

Maidencombe Beach is a small sand and shingle beach beneath high cliffs on the South Devon coast between Teignmouth/Shaldon and Babbacombe. It's overlooked by the 'Beach Cafe'.

There's a reasonable amount of parking just down the road from the pub in the delightful Maidencombe village. Access is via a steepish path just off the South West Coast Path.

Just to the south is a similar arc of beach at Watcombe Beach with Watcombe behind. Beyond that is Babbacombe within the The English Riviera.

North of Maidencombe, the South West Coast Path follows the hilly coastline to Shaldon and Teignmouth.

In addition to Maidencombe Beach and Watcombe Beach, in the local area try also Ness Cove Beach and Shaldon Beach, Babbacombe Beach and Harbour and Oddicombe Beach.
