Hall Sands (Beach), Torcross, South Devon

Shingle beach near Start Point

Hall Sands (Beach) is a shingle beach near Start Point and Start Point Lighthouse in the southern section of Start Bay.

When visiting this part of South Devon, most people head for Blackpool Sands (Beach) or Slapton Sands (Beach). We'd recommend making the effort to travel a little further south as Hall Sands (Beach) is in a very special area.

There's parking at the coastal village Hallsands. You can also walk in on the South West Coast Path from the parking area at Start Point or from Beesands or Torcross. The latter is a particularly beautiful, if long, walk. There are pubs at Torcross and Beesands if you need a break.

South west of Hall Sands (Beach) are the beaches that fringe Lannacombe Bay. West of Hall Sands (Beach) are the sand beaches of the Salcombe Kingsbridge Estuary. North or Hall Sands (Beach) are Bee Sands (Beach), Slapton Sands (Beach) and Blackpool Sands (Beach).

Local villages we'd recommend visiting include Beesands, Torcross and East Prawle. Major towns in the area are Salcombe, Dartmouth and Kingsbridge.
