Foot ferry crossing the Teign Estuary between Teignmouth and Shaldon
The Teignmouth/Shaldon Ferry runs between Teignmouth River Beach/Back Beach and Shaldon Beach.
Take the ferry from the slipway at the bottom of Lifeboat Lane in Teignmouth or from the landing point on Shaldon Beach. Note that there are signs for the latter and the landing point is difficult to miss. If in doubt, head for The Ferry Boat Inn in Shaldon and drop down onto the beach.
It's a short crossing and a small charge applies. Alternatively, cross on the bridge to the west of Teignmouth.
