Superb visitor centre telling the story of the Pilgrim Fathers

The Mayflower Visitor Centre is a superb museum and visitor centre telling the story of the Pilgrim Fathers' journey to Plymouth, Massachusetts in America. The Pilgrim Fathers formed the first permanent colony in New England. The Mayflower Visitor Centre is across the way from Plymouth's famous Mayflower Steps.

The museum and visitor centre are housed on four floors. There's a viewing balcony on the top floor that provides top views of Sutton Harbour, Plymouth and Dartmoor beyond. The floor below hosts the bulk of information on the Pilgrim Fathers. The lower floor centres on a model of the Mayflower and displays other boats. These three floors sit on top of a general visitor centre providing information on Plymouth and the local area. There is also a wide range of books and items to buy.
