Famous west side of Plymouth's historic Sutton Harbour

Plymouth Barbican is the west side of the city's historic Sutton Harbour from where the Pilgrim Fathers sailed to Plymouth, Massachusetts in America.

It's a remarkbale place. Sir Walter Raleigh, Sir Francis Drake, Sir John Hawkins, Captain Cook and Charles Darwin have all wandered the streets of the Barbican and sailed from Plymouth.

Plymouth Barbican is home to the restored sixteenth century Elizabethan House and Plymouth Gin, England's oldest working distillery. Galleries show the work of local artists such as Robert Lenkiewicz and Beryl Cook.
